Join our team at Michael Byrne Mfg., a thriving small manufacturing company specializing in custom construction equipment and industrial gear boxes. We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented machinist to operate a variety of gear cutting machines.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate manual gear cutting machines such as shapers and hobs
- Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications to determine machining operations.
- Monitor machine operations to ensure adherence to specifications and quality standards.
- Adjust machine controls and offsets as needed to ensure proper machining of parts.
- Perform routine maintenance on machines and equipment.
- Inspect finished products for accuracy and quality before releasing them for further processing or shipment.
Skills
- Experience operating manual machining centers or industrial equipment
- Ability to use precision tools to take accurate measurements
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics and manuals
- Strong math and analytical skills
- Physical stamina and strength to lift heavy items
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of vocational training or an apprenticeship will be an asset
