Overview
We are seeking a reliable Prep Cook to support daily kitchen operations by preparing ingredients and maintaining an organized workstation. In this role, you’ll help keep the kitchen running efficiently while following recipes and food safety standards. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, efficient, and comfortable working in a busy kitchen.
Duties
- Follow prep lists and instructions from kitchen manager
- Work closely with chefs and kitchen staff to keep food prep on schedule
- Prepare ingredients and simple dishes according to recipes and menu specifications
- Assist in food preparation for daily menu items, catering events, and special functions
- Follow recipes and portion control guidelines to maintain consistency and quality
- Set up workstations with the ingredients and tools needed for service
- Label, stock, and store ingredients properly to ensure freshness and easy access
- Monitor ingredient levels and communicate needs to chefs or kitchen managers
- Assist with additional kitchen tasks as needed to support smooth operations
- Handle food safely by practicing proper food handling techniques and sanitation procedures
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations and kitchen areas ensuring compliance with food safety standards
- Clean dishes, utensils, and work areas throughout the shift
- Sanitize surfaces and dispose of waste according to food safety standards
Experience
- Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 40 pounds.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
- Dependable, punctual, and able to work well in a team environment.
- 5 years of Kitchen experience in restaurants or the food industry
- Demonstrated skills in food preparation, cooking, knife handling, and meal assembly
- Knowledge of food safety protocols and proper food handling procedures
- Familiarity with catering services and serving in a fast-paced environment is a plus
- Strong understanding of menu planning, food industry standards, and kitchen operations
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in food presentation and hygiene practices
Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
Application Question(s):
- It is required that you are available to work either 10am-4pm and/or 12pm-8pm on a five day work week schedule Monday-Sunday with one or two days off a week. If you cannot work during these times please do not apply.
