Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and highly organized Automotive Dispatcher to coordinate vehicle dispatching and transportation operations within our fleet management team. Responsibilities
- Coordinate and schedule vehicle dispatches using vehicle dispatch software and transportation management systems such as Central Dispatch and Super Dispatch.
- Communicate effectively with drivers, customers, and internal teams via multi-line phone systems, phone call management, and internal communication channels to relay instructions, updates, and resolve issues promptly.
- Monitor GPS and GIS data to track vehicle locations.
- Manage freight details, including pickup and delivery schedules, documentation, and data entry.
- Handle phone etiquette professionally when managing inquiries from drivers or clients while providing exceptional customer service.
- Analyze transportation data to identify opportunities for efficiency improvements in road transportation operations and supply chain processes.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of GIS (Geographic Information Systems), GPS technology, transportation planning, and road transportation operations.
- Experience with transportation management systems such as Super Dispatch, Central Dispatch, or similar platforms.
- Familiarity with vehicle dispatch software, fleet management tools, and logistics procedures within supply chain environments.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced setting.
- Strong analysis skills for evaluating route efficiency, freight movement data, and operational performance metrics.
- Effective communication skills—both verbal and written—to coordinate dispatch activities clearly across multiple channels.
- Knowledge of DOT regulations related to vehicle operation, driver hours of service, safety standards, and compliance requirements.
- Ability to manage multi-line phone systems efficiently while maintaining high levels of customer service through professional phone etiquette.
- Experience with internal communication platforms such as SyteLine or similar ERP systems for seamless coordination across departments.
