Position Title:
Warehouse Technician
Department: Logistics / Warehouse Operations
Reports To: Warehouse Supervisor or Warehouse Manager

Travel: Minimal – May assist with deployments, offsite staging, or resupply efforts as needed
Position Summary:
The Warehouse Technician supports daily warehouse operations by handling the receipt, storage, staging, and shipment of disaster response equipment, supplies, and materials. This hands-on role ensures the accurate movement of inventory, maintains a clean and organized warehouse environment, and contributes to mission readiness through efficient support of emergency deployments.
The Warehouse Technician plays a key role in executing operational plans and upholding safety, inventory control, and logistical efficiency.
Core Responsibilities:
1. Receiving & Inventory Handling
- Receive incoming shipments and verify contents against packing slips and purchase orders.
- Unload, inspect, and report any damage or discrepancies with received goods.
- Label, barcode, and store materials in proper locations according to warehouse layout and safety protocols.
2. Order Fulfillment & Staging
- Pick and pack items accurately for deployment, field operations, or internal use.
- Prepare and palletize outgoing shipments based on manifests or load plans.
- Support Just-In-Time (JIT) logistics during emergency mobilizations or resupply efforts.
3. Inventory Control & Documentation
- Update inventory management systems or spreadsheets to reflect accurate stock levels.
- Conduct regular cycle counts and assist with full inventory audits.
- Maintain clear, organized documentation for all inbound/outbound inventory movements.
4. Warehouse Maintenance & Safety
- Keep warehouse areas clean, organized, and free of safety hazards.
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, hand trucks, and other warehouse equipment safely.
- Comply with OSHA safety standards, wear required PPE, and follow company protocols.
5. Deployment Support & Special Projects
- Assist in packing field kits and preparing gear for deployment to disaster sites or temporary facilities.
- Participate in loading and unloading vehicles or trailers during rapid mobilizations.
- Support setup of temporary warehouse sites or mobile supply units as needed.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- 1–3 years of warehouse, logistics, or material handling experience
- Experience in emergency response, military, or government logistics a plus
- Ability to use inventory systems, barcode scanners, and handheld devices
- Forklift certification preferred (or willing to obtain within 30 days)
- Basic computer literacy (Microsoft Excel, email, inventory apps)
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs, stand for extended periods, and operate in fast-paced environments
- Strong attention to detail and teamwork skills

- Picking/packing accuracy rate
- Inventory discrepancy rate
- On-time order fulfillment and staging
- Warehouse cleanliness and organization audit results
- Adherence to safety and equipment handling standards
Work Environment:
- Primarily warehouse-based with physical demands such as lifting, bending, and operating equipment
- Exposure to varying temperatures, especially in loading areas or during deployments
- May be required to work overtime, evenings, or weekends during emergency activations or field operations

- Forklifts, pallet jacks, dollies, shrink wrap machines
- Barcode scanners, tablets, and computers
- PPE such as gloves, safety shoes, and reflective vests
