Girard College seeks a STEM Teacher primarily working with 1st to 4th grade, beginning in the 2026–27 school year. The STEM Teacher will create and implement developmentally appropriate, hands-on instruction aligned to Pennsylvania STEELS and NGSS standards, introducing students to engineering, technology, coding, and scientific thinking through inquiry-based and project-based learning. They will work to establish partnerships, new and existing, to support the development of STEM skills and careers at EMS. They will also manage the mini-STEM lab at the EMS level to ensure that all students are exposed to the work.
Teachers work collaboratively with classroom teachers, specialists, instructional leaders, outside partners, and residential staff and participate fully in the academic and residential life of the school. The position reports directly to the Principal of the Elementary/Middle School.

Education Background and Minimum Requirements:

Teaching experience highly preferred with a proven record of high academic and social achievement

Minimum requirement of a Bachelor’s degree in Education, STEM, or related field required in the specific core content job area

Must possess a minimum of a Level I Instructional Certificate or above in the content area in which they are teaching from the PA Department of Education or must obtain Instructional Intern Certificate in the content area in which they teach within one year from date of hire. STEM PK-12

IMPORTANT SALARY INFORMATION: the minimum starting salary for new teachers shall be determined by their completion of years of teaching / counseling experience and degree level. In accordance with the bargaining agreement.
