Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and assess their outdoor power equipment needs with enthusiasm and professionalism
- Provide detailed product knowledge and recommend suitable tools, accessories, or replacement parts based on customer requirements
- Assist with the repair and maintenance of outdoor power equipment, including chainsaws, trimmers, blowers, and other machinery
- Use schematics and technical manuals to troubleshoot issues such as engine problems or electrical faults in equipment
- Perform mechanical repairs on various equipment types, including diesel engines, generators, and heavy machinery
- Operate hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, soldering irons, and other workshop tools safely and effectively
- Conduct vehicle maintenance tasks when needed, including basic diagnostics and repairs on service vehicles or equipment trailers
- Support sales efforts by demonstrating product features and benefits to customers while ensuring excellent customer service at all times
- Handle heavy lifting of equipment and parts safely while maintaining a clean and organized workspace
- Maintain detailed records of repairs performed, parts used, and customer interactions to ensure quality control
Qualifications
- Proven dealership experience or background working in an outdoor power equipment store is highly preferred
- Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in automotive repair, equipment repair, or similar fields
- Familiarity with schematics for troubleshooting electrical or engine issues in diesel engines or generators
- Experience working with service technicians or performing diesel engine repair is a plus
- Knowledge of automotive systems such as Caterpillar engines or heavy machinery is advantageous
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, welding techniques, soldering skills, and electrical troubleshooting methods
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly and effectively
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining attention to detail in a fast-paced environment
- Prior experience in sales or product demonstrations is beneficial but not required
