Billboard Operations Director
Introduction;
We are looking for someone with Billboard and/or Operations experience to lead our team. This position will report to the Rochester, MN office. Daily travel will be required throughout the State of Minnesota. The purpose of this position is to oversee and ensure the department properly functions, ensuring the timely delivery of our products in conjunction with our contractual obligations and stated department goals. As well as overseeing the construction and maintenance of our inventory, and anticipating future maintenance and construction needs of the department. Also to oversee, update, and administer our safety program. Hire, train, cross train, and develop team members and inspect their work product, as well as regular inspections of the plant.
It is the duty of the Operations Director to provide accountability and confidence to all employees and work direct with the Minnesota Operations Team, Ensuring the operations department runs smoothly and reliably each day, by consistently delivering a high quality product. Instilling in our customers the belief we are reliable and professional and will do whatever is necessary to ensure their campaigns are properly placed and meet with their expectations.
Basic Requirements of the position
· Production Management and Oversight
o Set daily work schedules each day/week to ensure ads are timely placed, rotated and removed, ensuring the runs scheduled are efficient and not wasting company resources
o Manage and oversee the work product of all crew members with direct communication
o Oversee and deliver new builds, construction, and maintenance.
§ Requires pre-planning, execution, and meeting established deadlines
o Managing contractors, and ensuring the crew maintains any and all of their specialty certifications
o Serve as liaison between the sales, Operations, and the real-estate department.
o Plant maintenance including the oversight of tree trimming, painting, etc. As well as ensuring lights and time clocks are working properly
o Logistical long-term department planning, including adherence to budgets
o Warehouse, yard are cleaned regularly. Including keeping vinyl properly organized and stored at all time for prompt location and install, as well as promptly discarded after the expiration of campaigns.
o Adherence to company policies and procedures in regard to late materials, firm postings, and un-approved A.E. requests.
Safety Compliance
Develop, implement and enforce the company safety policy. As well as complying with OSHA regulations and laws.
Perform random safety inspections to confirm compliance with safety policy.
Administer Drug testing when necessary and appropriate.
Obtain and maintain all safety and other required skill and trade certifications as related to the department.
Employee Management
o Hire, train, and cross train all crew members with the Operations Manager
o Oversee and enforce adherence to work schedules. Ensuring team members are working a full day and taking lunches together.
o Make sure the employees are trained on all tools and equipment, and that they are respectful of all equipment and property.
o Inspect/coach/mentor and hold crew members accountable to the expectations of their jobs
o Develop and implement leadership development program for the crew leader, assistant operations manager, and operations manager position
o Maintain positive culture, good attitudes
o Perform departmental reviews, write ups and terminations when necessary.
-This position reports direct to the General Manager
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
High School degree or a degree in Business or a closely related field.
Operational management experience.
Strong management, written and oral communication and organizational skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Valid driver’s license with satisfactory driving record.
Willingness and ability to travel as required.
