Project Manager (Contract)
Please note that this is a contract role providing services to Microsoft through external staffing partners of Allegis Global Solutions. If you are selected for this role, you will be employed by AGS and will not be an employee of Microsoft.
Summary:
We are seeking a technically fluent and operationally driven program manager to own the health, governance, compliance posture, and lifecycle management of a diverse portfolio of Azure services, data platforms, identity systems, websites, AI-enabled solutions, and operational tooling. This role sits at the intersection of cloud operations, security compliance, identity management, and program coordination, serving as a critical hub for ensuring that a broad range of systems remain reliable, well-governed, and compliant. The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365 environments, is comfortable investigating operational issues across multiple platforms simultaneously, and thrives in a fast-paced environment where priorities shift daily. This is not a software engineering role, but it requires enough technical fluency to understand cloud services, identity systems, source control, and enterprise compliance requirements — and to act decisively when systems need attention.
Job Responsibilities:
Monitor daily operational health alerts across 10–15 systems, triage issues by priority, and coordinate resolution with appropriate service owners and stakeholders
Manage security groups, distribution groups, Microsoft 365 groups, service accounts, and non-person accounts including ownership changes, access reviews, and ongoing governance
Drive security remediation initiatives by identifying service owners, understanding technical requirements, coordinating stakeholders, and tracking actions to closure
Support identity platform transitions including migrations resulting from platform changes such as HMG replacements, IDWeb retirement, and future identity-management transitions
Administer Azure subscriptions, resource inventories, ownership assignments, permissions, and lifecycle activities across the team's cloud environment
Investigate and respond to failures in the eventing platform, including correcting backend data issues, removing problematic database records, and communicating required actions to affected users
Maintain Service Tree registrations, feature team aliases, ownership mappings, service metadata, and dependency records to ensure accurate service representation
Manage DataGrid classification, tagging, registration, and governance activities for data assets to support privacy and compliance requirements
Lead service retirement, migration, and decommissioning efforts by assessing dependencies, coordinating stakeholders, and managing compliance requirements through smooth transitions
Manage repository permissions, documentation, ownership records, governance requirements, archival activities, and minor code or configuration changes required for operational maintenance
Administer SAW devices, SC-Alt accounts, YubiKeys, service accounts, and related identity administration processes including provisioning, renewals, and compliance tracking
Maintain comprehensive inventories of services, repositories, subscriptions, identity assets, compliance obligations, and operational contacts
Leverage AI tools to research solutions, troubleshoot issues, create documentation, automate routine tasks, and support low-risk code or content updates
Conduct daily syncs with the team manager to align on highest-priority items and ensure effective workload management
