DESCRIPTION OF WORK
This position focuses on supervising nursing care, guiding staff, and ensuring safe and accurate health services for residents in a veterans home. You will oversee daily care, maintain compliance, and support quality improvement efforts. As a Registered Nurse Supervisor, you will perform the following duties:
- Nursing Supervision: Mentor nurses in daily treatments, observations, and resident care activities
- Staff Coordination: Assign personnel, review time records, and maintain required nursing care hours
- Care Monitoring: Check documentation, care plans, and assessments for accuracy and compliance
- Quality Oversight: Evaluate data, identify safety concerns, and recommend improvements to procedures
- Leadership Duties: Interview, coach, evaluate, and support staff to meet facility expectations

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment, 80 hours biweekly
- Work hours are 3rd shift (11:00 PM to 7:30 AM) and include working every other weekend and a 30-minute lunch. Training will be conducted on the day shift.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Three years as a Registered Nurse (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
- Four years of professional nursing experience providing care and treatment services consistent with those needed for individuals with a mental or physical injury or illness and/or a developmental disability.
Special Requirements:
- This position requires active authorization to practice as a Registered Nurse in Pennsylvania.
- All employees possessing an active temporary practice permit must obtain licensure as a Registered Nurse within the one (1) year period defined by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing.
Other Requirements:
- PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title.
Legal Requirements:
- A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.
- This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
- Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
