Under the general direction of the Director of Operations or designee, This position is responsible for managing construction projects. Serves as the project manager and primary liaison between the City of Stamford and contractors ensuring all contract terms are fulfilled. Responsibilities include conducting on-site inspections, monitoring work progress, managing construction schedule and submitting required reports. Oversees project costs, prepares cost estimates, and ensures projects stay within budget. Monitors project progress, identifies and resolves issues and facilitate clear communication throughout the project lifecycle. Ensures compliance with safety regulations and building codes. May be required to attend and present at various boards.
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor’s degree in engineering, architecture, construction management or a related field and at least five years of responsible supervisory experience in the construction of large projects, institutional buildings and/or renovations.
Other Necessary Requirements
Possession of a Connecticut professional license and/or relevant certification is preferred.
