Job Title: Process Engineer II
Location: Southampton, PA
Job Type: Full-Time
Schedule: Monday – Friday (Onsite)
Pay Range: $90,000-$105,000 / Annual (Depending on experience)
Position Summary
Our client is seeking a Process Engineer II to support manufacturing operations by evaluating existing processes, implementing improvements, and developing efficient manufacturing systems. This role is responsible for optimizing production processes, reducing costs, improving quality, and supporting new product introductions within a CNC machining and assembly environment.
The ideal candidate has experience in CNC manufacturing, process engineering, Lean Manufacturing, and project management, preferably within the aerospace industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Review customer contracts and support the New Product Introduction (NPI) process.
- Develop manufacturing methods, routings, and Bills of Material (BOMs).
- Manage project timelines, priorities, and cross-functional resources.
- Identify, recommend, and implement manufacturing process improvements.
- Determine appropriate CNC equipment, tooling, and manufacturing processes based on product specifications.
- Improve manufacturing efficiency through workflow analysis, facility layout optimization, and equipment planning.
- Maintain safe, reliable manufacturing systems while improving productivity, quality, yields, and changeover efficiency.
- Develop innovative manufacturing solutions to improve operational performance.
- Increase process capability and production capacity while maintaining quality standards.
- Design and implement systems that optimize all phases of production.
- Recommend corrective actions for process-related issues.
- Ensure engineering projects are completed on schedule.
- Prepare reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing production and process data.
- Support estimating activities through job costing reviews and price quote development.
- Maintain technical knowledge of manufacturing processes and emerging technologies.
- Participate in Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications / Preferred Experience
- Experience with CNC machining and assembly operations in an aerospace manufacturing environment.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and project management skills.
- Working knowledge of aerospace manufacturing processes.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
- Strong computer proficiency, including:
- Microsoft Word
- Excel
- PowerPoint
- Outlook
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
- Strong organizational and workflow analysis skills.
- Demonstrated project planning and project management experience.
- Ability to work effectively within cross-functional manufacturing teams.
- Experience using:
- SolidWorks
- AutoCAD
- Other 2D/3D CAD software
- Knowledge of AS9100 quality standards is preferred.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field preferred.
- Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
- Five years of CNC aerospace manufacturing experience may be substituted for a degree.
Work Environment
- Manufacturing environment with exposure to moving machinery and industrial equipment.
- Moderate to occasionally loud noise levels.
- Occasional exposure to electrical systems.
Physical Requirements
- Stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday.
- Frequently use hands and tools while working with manufacturing equipment.
- Occasionally climb, balance, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.
- Ability to perform work requiring close vision, depth perception, and attention to detail.
