The ideal candidates are dependable, flexible, and comfortable connecting with patrons of all ages and backgrounds, including those who speak languages other than English. EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
What You'll DoCheck materials in and out, assist with holds, and update patron recordsIssue and renew library cards while maintaining accurate accountsProvide friendly, helpful service at the circulation deskHelp patrons find materials and navigate basic library servicesSort, shelve, and shift materials to keep collections organized and accessibleOperate self-check machines, computers, copiers, and other equipmentCollect fines and fees and help prepare daily depositsPrepare reports, order supplies, and ensure materials remain in good conditionTo succeed in this role, you’ll need strong communication skills, the ability to work collaboratively with a team, and a commitment to providing inclusive service to a diverse community. You should be comfortable engaging with patrons of all ages, including children, teens, and those who speak languages other than English. Initiative, creativity, and flexibility are key—along with a willingness to grow and learn.
SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION
