Job Overview
We are seeking a Manual Machinist to join our team. In this role, you will operate and set up manual machining equipment to produce precision metal components according to detailed blueprints and specifications. Your expertise will ensure the highest quality standards are met while adhering to safety protocols and schedules.
Duties
- Interpret mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to determine machining requirements.
- Operate manual lathes, grinders, mills, and other machining tools with precision to produce complex parts.
- Measure and inspect finished parts using calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, coordinate measuring machines (CMM), and other precision instruments to ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Perform setup and adjustments on manual machinery, including selecting appropriate tooling and fixtures for each job.
- Conduct quality control inspections utilizing GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) principles and CNC quality inspection techniques.
- Maintain accurate documentation of machining processes, measurements, and inspection results.
- Assist in tooling setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting to optimize machine performance and productivity.
Requirements
- Prior experience as a Manual Machinist or similar role within a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to use precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, dial indicators, and coordinate measuring machines (CMM).
- Mechanical knowledge including understanding of tooling, grinding processes, and assembly procedures.
- Use of hand tools, power tools, grinders, forklifts, and other manufacturing equipment required
- Basic math skills for calculations related to measurements and tolerances.
- Prior Knowledge of CNC programming, CNC lathe/milling machine operation is highly desirable.
Pay: $24.00 - $28.00 per hour
