The City of Norwalk Parks and Recreation Department is seeking a motivated and hardworking individual to join our team as a Parks Technician. This is an exciting opportunity to help maintain and improve the parks, trails, recreational facilities, and public spaces that make Norwalk a great place to live and play.
We are looking for someone who enjoys working outdoors, takes pride in their work, and is eager to learn and grow within the profession. The ideal candidate is a problem solver who takes initiative, demonstrates sound judgment and decision-making abilities, communicates effectively, and works well both independently and as part of a team.
As a Parks Technician, no two days are the same. From maintaining athletic fields and playgrounds to operating equipment, supporting seasonal operations, and assisting with community spaces, this position plays an important role in keeping City facilities safe, functional, and welcoming for the public.

Qualifications: Two (2) years of full-time experience in facilities maintenance involving plumbing, electrical, and/or heating and cooling systems; or semi-skilled or technical work in biological, horticultural, conservation, or natural resources programs; or a bachelor’s degree in biology, natural resources, conservation, horticulture, or a closely related field.

Pay: $55,823.29 - $74,431.05 per year
