Responsibilities
- Greet guests with enthusiasm and professionalism, establishing a positive first impression
- Manage restaurant reservation systems and coordinate seating arrangements efficiently
- Answer incoming phone calls with courteous phone etiquette, providing information and taking reservations
- Maintain accurate records of reservations, waitlists, and guest preferences using restaurant table management systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS
- Assist guests with seating, answer questions about menu items or restaurant policies, and address special requests
- Support the front-of-house team by ensuring tables are prepared promptly and efficiently for incoming guests
- Uphold food safety standards and ensure cleanliness in the host station to promote a safe dining environment
Requirements
- Previous experience as a host or hostess in a restaurant or food service setting preferred
- Strong customer service skills with excellent communication abilities and positive attitude
- Familiarity with restaurant reservation management and table management systems like Aloha POS or Micros POS
- Basic math skills for handling reservations, waitlist management, and guest billing inquiries
- Ability to handle phone communication professionally, demonstrating good phone etiquette at all times
- Organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently during busy hours
- Knowledge of food safety practices and hospitality standards; hotel experience is a plus but not required
