Description of Role:
HHMC & FRC is seeking a Medical Assistant (or Certified Medical Assistant) to provide direct and indirect support to their paired provider in the delivery of patient care. In this role, the MA/CMA will prepare exam rooms, manage patient charts, and ready patients for their provider, while performing and implementing orders for diagnostic tests. The regular schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM or 8:00 AM to 7:00 PM. Please note that candidates must be flexible to work at any of our clinic locations based on staffing needs.
Essential Functions:
- Perform data collection for assessment purposes under the direction of a clinician.
- Prepares the exam room and workstation for clinician; cleans and stocks rooms in between patients.
- Prepares the patient and assists the provider with exams and procedures when needed.
- Administers injections and diagnostic tests/referrals as ordered, including immunizations, completing lab and e-ray requisitions, and other services ordered by the clinician.
- Performs diagnostic and laboratory tests including but not limited to: audiometry, EKG, spirometry, urine dips, Acu-Check, urine HCG, Hemocue hemoglobin, etc. according to Harmony Health competency standards.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Completion of a formal/accredited Medical Assistant Program (Required)
- CCMA Certification (Preferred)
- Two (2) years of medical setting/outpatient clinic (Preferred)
- Current Life Support Training Certification (Required)
- Up to date immunizations for: Hep B, Tdap, and COVID-19
