Snowmobile Driver and Operator
Champaign Park District – Seasonal, Non-Exempt (Not to exceed 6 months)
Help bring community events to life as the Champaign Park District’s Showmobile Driver and Operator. In this hands-on role, you will safely transport, set up, operate, and break down the District’s portable stage for concerts, movies, rentals, and special events throughout the community. This is a limited-hours, part-time position with work hours that vary and frequently include evenings and weekends.
Summary of Responsibilities:

Safely drive the Showmobile on city streets and through parks to community event locations.

Set up, oversee, operate, and tear down the Showmobile and related stage equipment.

Operate audio, electrical, mechanical, and visual equipment during events.

Drive the sound truck as needed to deliver equipment.

Assist with crowd control and event supervision at concerts, movies, rentals, and special events.

Communicate professionally with rental customers, volunteers, event participants, staff, and members of the public.

Assist with staging needs and help coordinate event participants and volunteers.

Maintain accurate records related to program and event operations.

Report maintenance and supply needs to the supervisor.

Distribute Champaign Park District promotional materials as assigned.

Respond quickly and appropriately in emergency situations.

Attend required meetings and training sessions.

Perform other duties as assigned.
This is a great opportunity to play a visible role in Champaign’s community events and programs. You will gain experience in event operations, portable staging, customer service, audio/visual support, and public event coordination while working independently and making a direct impact on community experiences.
