Are you a vibrant, enrolled college student living in the Miami, FL area and looking for an exciting opportunity? Join our team as a Children's Ministry Intern and become an integral part of our mission to foster the spiritual development of children in our community! As a Children's Ministry Intern, you'll work alongside our dedicated Children's Ministry Director and staff to craft and implement engaging programs and activities tailored to different age groups, needs and cultures. Your energy and passion will help fuel and create memorable experiences that inspire and connect with the hearts and minds of the children at First Miami and the community impacted by our ministry.
Duties
- Assist in planning and implementing engaging Sunday school lessons and activities tailored for children of various ages
- Foster positive relationships with children and their families, actively engaging with them during Sunday services and special events
- Assist with maintaining accurate attendance records and filing for Children's Ministry
- Support the development of age-appropriate spiritual lessons that promote biblical teachings and values
- Participate in organizing special events, holiday programs, and outreach activities aimed at children and families
- Provide mentorship and support to children, fostering a safe, welcoming environment that encourages spiritual exploration
- Collaborate with church staff and volunteers to coordinate programs that enhance children's understanding of faith and community service
- Offer compassionate bereavement support or hospice care guidance when appropriate, demonstrating sensitivity to families' needs
- Engage in ongoing training related to Christian counseling, social work principles, or event planning to enhance ministry effectiveness
Qualifications
- A background that reflects familiarity with Christian faith and culture is preferred
- Experience working with children in educational, religious, or social settings is highly preferred
- Strong leadership qualities with the ability to motivate and mentor young learners
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, while also having the ability to take initiative and work independently
- Excellent communication skills for effectively engaging with children, parents, and team members
- Ability to organize events, manage multiple tasks, and adapt to changing needs within the ministry environment
- Demonstrated compassion, patience, and a genuine desire to serve others through faith-based initiatives
- Help manage and organize inventory and supplies for Children's Ministry related programs
- Assist with planning and implementing Children's Ministry related church-wide programs and events
Pay: $25.00 per hour
