Duties
- Safely operate box trucks with manual transmission across designated routes, adhering to all DOT (Department of Transportation) and FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations.
- Load and unload freight efficiently using proper manual handling techniques, ensuring cargo safety and security.
- Navigate routes using GPS navigation systems to optimize delivery times and maintain schedule accuracy.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to identify maintenance needs or safety issues before and after each shift.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, shipment documentation, and compliance records for all cargo movements.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, warehouse personnel, and customers to coordinate deliveries and resolve any issues promptly.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in commercial truck driving, including route driving with box trucks or tractor-trailers.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; CDL (Commercial Driver’s License) preferred but not mandatory depending on vehicle size.
- Demonstrated ability to operate manual transmission trucks confidently.
- Knowledge of FMCSA regulations, DOT (Department of Transportation) rules,
- Experience with freight handling involving load & unload procedures using forklifts or manual techniques.
- Strong understanding of GPS navigation tools and logistics cargo handling processes.
- Physical capability to lift heavy loads safely and perform manual handling tasks regularly.
