Location: Bangor, ME (within 30 miles preferably)
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, flexibility as needed
Compensation: Competitive Salary + Bonus

Bristol Hospice is seeking an Executive Director to lead our Bangor-area program. This is a high-impact leadership role for someone who thrives in accountability, understands the business side of healthcare, and can build, coach, and lead a team to deliver exceptional patient care.
Hospice experience is a plus—but not required. We’re open to strong healthcare leaders, including those in nursing or clinical leadership, who bring operational discipline, financial acumen, and people leadership.
What You’ll Do
- Own day-to-day operations, ensuring efficiency, compliance, and care quality
- Manage budgets, financial performance, and operational planning
- Lead, coach, and hold teams accountable for results
- Address performance issues head-on and lead difficult conversations with confidence
- Ensure proper staffing, staff development, and strong team culture
- Oversee regulatory compliance and accreditation readiness
- Partner with clinical leaders to ensure excellent interdisciplinary patient care
- Monitor performance metrics and implement improvements
- Strengthen community presence and relationships
What We’re Looking For
- Required: Proven leadership experience in healthcare (hospice, home health, hospital, or SNF)
- Strong operational and financial management skills
- Experience managing teams and driving accountability
- Ability to navigate difficult conversations and performance management
- Comfortable balancing clinical priorities with business objectives
Preferred:
- Hospice leadership experience
- Background in nursing or clinical leadership
- Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3–5+ years of healthcare management experience
