DEPARTMENT: Operating Room
Job Summary: Assesses, plans, implements and evaluates care for all age patients in operating room. Provides care within nursing standards of practice and the policies of the Center. Makes decisions regarding direct patient care needs and communicates appropriate information to physicians, patients, family members, and personnel in other departments as well as team members. May have additional responsibilities as designated by Administrator the Clinical Director, which include, but are not limited to, serving on committees, participating in quality improvement audits and projects.

1. Knows and adheres to policies of the Center and demonstrates fiscal responsibility.
2. Follows standards, policies, procedures, goals, and objectives for peri-operative nursing care according to accepted standards.
3. Maintains and demonstrates current skills and knowledge in aseptic technique, proper scrub technique, cleaning and preparation of equipment, and operating room.
4. Oversees the Management of the OR room including: patient safety, equipment, supplies, instruments, sterile technique, OR traffic patterns, and ensuring policies and procedures are followed.
5. Assists Anesthesia throughout the OR Procedure
6. Demonstrates ability to understand the unique needs of each age group of the patient population.
7. Follows OSHA and other standards for protection against blood borne pathogens and body fluids.
8. Seeks involvement in activities that promote professional growth and behavior.
9. Uses good body mechanics and aseptic technique.
10. Remains calm and functions as a team leader (along with Anesthesia) during times of stress and in crisis situations.
11. Directs and oversees the counts: sponges, needles, and instruments with the Scrub Personnel.
12. Informs Manager of applicable day-to-day situations.
13. Follows employee health and other personnel and staffing policies.
Required Experience:
One year experience required intra-operative setting, preferred Ambulatory Surgery Setting.

Pay: $45.00 - $55.00 per hour
