Position Summary
The Production Supervisor is responsible for planning, organizing, and supervising daily production activities, and ensuring that products are delivered in accordance with customer requirements, while complying with applicable company, quality, and regulatory standards. The supervisor will train and coach production employees in creating and sustaining a lean culture, By utilizing key leadership principles of respect, humility, and leading by example, the supervisor will create a positive work environment by engaging employees in the continuous improvement of Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost initiatives.
What You Will Do
- Ensure attainment of daily/weekly/monthly production plan by ensuring communication between employees, sharing best practices, prioritizing countermeasures among production areas, and ensuring proper job performance of all team members.
- Drive attainment of and improvements in safety, quality, delivery, and cost performance.
- Meet customer needs through creative solutions. Responds with a sense of urgency aligning activities, focusing on the needs and requirements of the customer.
- Lead with proper adherence to quality system procedures, Good Documentation Practices (GDP) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
- Ensure immediate response to abnormalities through identifying, documenting, and segregating nonconforming material.
- Monitor process flow to identify solutions for flow interruptions and ensure immediate response to abnormalities while exhibiting a detailed understanding of processes and equipment.
- Monitor operational status on all equipment/tools including calibration and certification, escalate as needed.
- Facilitate a safety culture, performs safety audits to ensure proper use and condition of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), machines, and safeguards, train individuals on safety procedures and expectations, lead investigations of near misses / incidents and facilitates the implementation of safety and ergonomics improvements.
- Learn and teach others on the basic lean principles and tools.
- Teach, coach and lead problem solving methodologies and tools to improve safety, quality, delivery and cost performance.
- Train, audit, improve standard work, and implement kaizen activities to meet objectives.
- Challenge current state, seeking opportunities to make incremental improvements daily and identifying solutions to remove waste from production activities.
- Drive optimum employee performance, talent, and talent development. Provide growth, training, and development opportunities to employees. Drive results through effective coaching, counseling of staff and setting meaningful and measurable goals.
- Evaluate performance and escalate needs through proper management and coaching of team members in relation to safety, quality, delivery and cost meetings and daily standard reports.
- Screen and select qualified individuals for positions, conduct performance reviews, work schedules, training, and effectively addresses employee relations situations and manages conflict.
- Drive safe working behavior within the department by demonstrating and promoting safe work performance, ensuring communications and recognition, as well as identifying and anticipating safety needs relative to equipment and or conditions. Maintain a safe working environment by establishing and enforcing procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Support new product development projects through manufacturing input as required.
- Communicate in an effective manner by utilizing accepted business practices in a courteous and professional manner to provide timely and accurate responses.
- Ensure Customer satisfaction through professional and timely communications with internal and external Customers and effective problem resolution.
- Perform tasks as directed by management.
What You Will Need to Be Successful
· Two (2) years or more of manufacturing operations experience (preferably in machining, fabrication or welding operations) with an associate degree, preferred.
· Six (6) years’ experience or more in manufacturing operations (preferably in machining, fabrication, or welding operations) without a degree.
· Two (2) years or more of supervisory experience.
· Ability to effectively read, write and verbally communicate in English.
· Effective use of Microsoft Office.
· Ability to work independently under general guidelines and supervision.
· Strong influencing and interpersonal and communication skills to build effective working relationships across all key functions.
· Effective analytical and problem-solving skills.
· A proven track record of working in a fast-paced environment with strong technical capabilities and be capable of handling multiple development aspects of assigned projects.
· Ability to adapt to changing duties and responsibilities.
· Ability to influence people in their opinions, attitude, or judgements; to generalize, evaluate and make decisions in stressful situations.
What May Help You
· Direct management of labor.
· 5 Years Lean Operations experience.
· Capable of completing statistical and data analysis using statistical tools such as MS Excel for KPI reporting and trending.

Pay: $18.50 - $25.00 per hour
