Duties
- Perform thorough dental examinations, including patient assessment and medical/dental history review, utilizing dental terminology and medical imaging techniques.
- Diagnose dental conditions such as cavities, periodontal disease, endodontic issues, orthodontic needs, and prosthodontic requirements with accuracy and professionalism.
- Develop and implement personalized treatment plans aligned with patient needs, state healthcare regulations, and HIPAA compliance standards.
- Conduct various procedures including dental restorations, root canal therapy, dental extractions, implants, oral surgery, orthodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry treatments.
- Utilize dental office management software such as Epic, Eaglesoft, Dentrix for documentation of medical records and treatment progress while maintaining strict infection control and aseptic techniques.
- Communicate effectively with patients to explain diagnoses, treatment options, and post-care instructions while ensuring client comfort and understanding.
- Collaborate with dental assistants and hygienists in four-handed dentistry to deliver efficient patient care while adhering to all safety protocols.
- Maintain accurate medical documentation and ensure compliance with all HIPAA regulations and state healthcare laws.
Experience
- Proven experience in general dentistry within a busy dental clinic or healthcare setting is essential.
- Familiarity with dental office software such as Epic, Eaglesoft, or Dentrix is highly preferred.
- Hands-on experience performing a wide range of procedures including dental extractions, root canal therapy, implants, orthodontics, endodontics, oral surgery, pediatric dentistry, and prosthodontics.
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, medical terminology, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques required for safe practice.
- Ability to interpret medical imaging and utilize diagnostic tools for accurate dental diagnosis.
- Excellent client communication skills with a focus on delivering compassionate patient care while explaining complex procedures clearly.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and state healthcare requirements to ensure full compliance in all aspects of practice management.
