Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Score & Break Machine Operator to join our metal manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical aptitude, experience operating production machinery, and the ability to accurately inspect parts using precision measuring instruments. This position requires a commitment to quality, safety, and productivity in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Set up, operate, and monitor score and break machinery to process metal materials according to production specifications.
- Read and interpret work orders and production instructions.
- Perform quality inspections using calipers and micrometers to ensure products meet dimensional tolerances.
- Adjust machine settings as needed to maintain product quality and production efficiency.
- Inspect finished parts for defects and verify measurements throughout the production process.
- Perform routine machine maintenance and report equipment issues to maintenance personnel.
- Maintain accurate production records and complete required documentation.
- Keep the work area clean, organized, and compliant with safety standards.
- Follow all company safety policies and manufacturing procedures.
Qualifications
- Minimum 1-2 years of machine operator experience in a manufacturing or metal fabrication environment.
- Required experience using calipers and micrometers to inspect parts and verify dimensions.
- Ability to read blueprints and follow detailed work instructions.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Basic mechanical troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand for extended periods.
- Reliable attendance and a strong work ethic.
Responsibilities
- Assist machine operators in the setup and operation of tube manufacturing machinery, ensuring efficient production processes.
- Load and unload raw materials and finished products onto and from machines using appropriate tools or equipment.
- Monitor machine operations to detect malfunctions or irregularities, reporting any issues to the machine operator or supervisor.
- Perform basic maintenance tasks, such as cleaning and lubricating machines, to ensure smooth operation.
- Measure and inspect products using calipers, micrometers, and other tools to verify compliance with quality standards.
- Sort, stack, and package finished products for shipment or storage according to specifications.
- Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work environment.
- Collaborate with the team to meet production deadlines and address workflow challenges.
- Record production data, including quantities produced, downtime, and material usage.
- Assist in troubleshooting and resolving machine-related problems as needed.
