Deli & Wine Bar Associate
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced, energetic, and customer-focused Deli & Wine Bar Associate to lead the daily operations of our deli and wine-and-spirits bar. The ideal candidate is passionate about hospitality, food, and wine, and enjoys creating memorable experiences for our guests. This role requires a hands-on leader who can manage day-to-day operations, deliver exceptional customer service, and help grow our business through events and community engagement.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee the daily operations of the deli and wine & spirits bar.
Prepare high-quality sandwiches, charcuterie boards, and other deli offerings with attention to presentation and quality.
Serve wine & spirits and prepare beverages responsibly while providing an outstanding guest experience.
Educate customers on wines, food pairings, and featured products.
Assist with planning, promoting, and executing wine tastings, special events, and private gatherings.
Deliver exceptional customer service by building relationships with guests and creating a welcoming atmosphere.
Manage inventory, order products, and minimize waste.
Ensure cleanliness, organization, and compliance with all food safety and health regulations.
Handle opening and closing procedures, cash management, and daily operational responsibilities.
Work collaboratively with management to develop new menu items, promotions, and ideas to increase sales.
Qualifications
Previous experience managing a deli, café, wine bar, restaurant, or similar hospitality business.
Strong leadership and communication skills with an outgoing, positive personality.
Knowledge of wine, including varietals, regions, and food pairings (or a willingness to continue expanding wine knowledge).
Experience preparing deli foods, sandwiches, charcuterie boards, and light menu items.
Comfortable serving wine and beverages in accordance with local regulations.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and special events.
Food safety certification and responsible beverage service certification are a plus.
