Our client is seeking an
Accounts Payable Manager based out of
Charlotte, NC. They are looking to hire this individual on a
contract basis to support and oversee the organization's accounts payable operations.
This is a long-term opportunity for an experienced Accounts Payable leader who enjoys managing teams, improving processes, and driving operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will bring extensive AP management experience in a large corporate environment, strong ERP system knowledge, and the ability to partner with Finance, Treasury, IT, Tax, Purchasing, and Operations teams to ensure accurate and timely payment processing.
Contract Duration: 12 Months
Required Skills & Experience
- Minimum 7 years of experience managing an Accounts Payable department or shared services center in a large corporate environment
- Minimum 3 years of people management experience
- Large ERP Accounts Payable system experience
- Experience with SAP
- Experience working with Corporate and Regional Finance, Treasury, IT, Tax, and Purchasing teams
- Strong interpersonal, communication, organizational, and leadership skills
- Strong analytical, technical, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with frequent process and system changes
Desired Skills & Experience
- SAP experience preferred
- Experience supporting and troubleshooting Concur Expense System
- Experience presenting ideas and issues to executive finance teams
- Experience driving process improvements and reducing invoice noncompliance

Daily Responsibilities
- Supervise Accounts Payable staff and ensure work is completed accurately and on time
- Support day-to-day Accounts Payable operations
- Provide accounting assistance to project managers and operations staff
- Respond to financial questions and concerns from business stakeholders
- Reduce noncompliant invoices through collaboration with plant and purchasing teams
- Develop, implement, and maintain AP systems, procedures, and policies
- Lead Accounts Payable-related projects through completion
- Resolve vendor invoicing issues affecting productivity and efficiency
- Ensure timely payment of vendor invoices and expense vouchers
- Maintain accurate records and control reports
- Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations, including 1099 filings
- Support and troubleshoot the Concur Expense System
