Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Physical Therapist Assistant to join our healthcare team. In this role, you will work under the supervision of licensed physical therapists to provide high-quality patient care in various settings, including inpatient, outpatient, skilled nursing facilities. Your expertise in physiotherapy techniques and patient management will contribute significantly to the rehabilitation process for patients of all ages.
Duties
- Assist physical therapists in developing and implementing individualized treatment plans based on patient needs and goals.
- Perform therapeutic exercises and modalities such as trigger point therapy to enhance patient recovery.
- Monitor patient progress and document treatment outcomes accurately in accordance with medical terminology and care plans.
- Educate patients and their families on exercises, home care strategies, and discharge planning to ensure continuity of care.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive care in acute care settings, orthopedics, geriatrics, pediatrics, and other specialized areas.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients during therapy sessions.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay current with best practices in physiotherapy.
Requirements
- Associate degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology relevant to physical therapy practices.
- Experience in skilled nursing facilities or outpatient clinics is preferred.
- Familiarity with discharge planning processes and patient care protocols.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse populations, including geriatric and pediatric patients.
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
