At Diversified Healthcare we are a long-term healthcare management company that consists of four nursing home facilities in Louisiana. Maison du Monde Living Center is a skilled nursing facility with a proud history of providing comprehensive and compassionate care. Located in Abbeville, our facility features 128 beds including a 20-bed Memory Care Unit.
We are seeking a Director of Nursing / Registered Nurse experienced in providing excellent leadership for staff and expert care to our residents in the Abbeville and surrounding community.
Job Responsibilities
The Director of Nursing (DON) manages and directs the day-to-day functions of nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures, and practices that are in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. The DON demonstrates knowledge of the resident's physical, social, emotional, and psychological needs based on the health care required. The ideal candidate will demonstrate the ability to lead effectively in a fast-paced and challenging environment and possess the skills necessary to problem solve in a customer service driven industry.
In addition, the Director of Nursing ensures adequate staffing patterns and that staff are qualified and trained. The DON supervises and evaluates nursing service activities in order to provide and maintain quality nursing care for each resident. Prior experience as a Director of Nursing in a long-term care setting is required. Salary plus incentive bonus plan. Excellent benefits.
Job requirements of the Director of Nursing role include:
- Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse
- Previous management or supervisory experience as a Director of Nursing is required
- Knowledge of state and federal long-term nursing care and Medicare regulations
- Knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, staffing, and scheduling
- Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
