We are seeking an experienced, dependable, and hands-on Maintenance Director to oversee the maintenance operations of our skilled nursing and rehabilitation center. This leadership role is responsible for ensuring a safe, comfortable, and compliant environment for our residents, staff, and visitors while maintaining all building systems, equipment, and grounds.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct and supervise all maintenance, repair, and preventative maintenance programs.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, local, OSHA, Life Safety Code, and Florida Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA) regulations.
- Maintain HVAC, plumbing, electrical, fire alarm, sprinkler, emergency generator, nurse call, and other facility systems.
- Conduct routine inspections to identify and address safety hazards and maintenance needs.
- Coordinate and oversee outside contractors and vendors.
- Maintain maintenance records, work orders, inspections, and regulatory documentation.
- Prepare and manage the department budget, inventory, and purchasing.
- Participate in emergency preparedness planning and serve as part of the facility's emergency response team.
- Supervise, train, and evaluate maintenance staff.
- Respond promptly to maintenance emergencies and after-hours issues as needed.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; technical training or trade certification preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of maintenance leadership experience, preferably in a skilled nursing facility, healthcare, or long-term care setting.
- Strong working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and mechanical systems.
- Thorough understanding of Life Safety Code requirements and healthcare regulatory compliance.
- Experience preparing for and participating in state and federal surveys is preferred.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
- Ability to prioritize multiple projects and work independently.
