INDUSTRIAL FORKLIFT OPERATOR
The Forklift Operator is responsible for safely moving, loading, unloading, and organizing steel materials throughout the facility using material-handling equipment, including large diesel forklifts and overhead cranes. This position plays a critical role in maintaining efficient material flow, inventory accuracy, and a safe, organized work environment. The ideal candidate is hands-on, safety-conscious, and committed to supporting the company's productivity, efficiency, and overall profitability.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate large and small industrial forklifts to transport raw and finished steel materials throughout the facility.
- Load and unload trucks using forklifts and overhead cranes.
- Receive, stage, store, and organize raw materials in the storage yard.
- Maintain accurate raw material inventory through physical counts and ERP system transactions.
- Perform daily pre-operational inspections and preventative maintenance on forklifts.
- Complete required forklift inspection reports and maintenance documentation.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe storage yard and work area.
- Follow all company safety policies and OSHA regulations while operating equipment.
- Work closely with production, shipping, and receiving teams to ensure timely movement of materials.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Previous experience operating large diesel forklifts in an industrial environment.
- Ability to safely operate material-handling equipment.
- Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team.
- Strong commitment to workplace safety in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Ability to maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality.
- Willingness to work overtime as needed.
Preferred
- Experience working in the structural steel or metal fabrication industry.
- Current forklift certification.
- Experience operating overhead cranes.

Pay: $24.00 - $28.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40.0 – 60.0 per week
