Job Summary
Join our dynamic pet care team as a Groomers Assistant/Bather, where your enthusiasm and animal handling skills will help deliver exceptional grooming experiences for our furry clients. In this energetic role, you will support professional groomers by preparing pets for grooming sessions, assisting with bathing, drying, brushing, Dematting, and ensuring each animal’s comfort and safety. This position offers a rewarding opportunity to work closely with animals, develop grooming skills, and contribute to pets well-being in a lively, team-oriented environment.
Duties
- Assist groomers by handling pets during bathing, drying, and grooming procedures to ensure smooth operations
- Safely bathe and dry animals using appropriate techniques and equipment, maintaining pet comfort at all times
- Support with animal restraint to ensure safety for both pets and staff during grooming activities
- Monitor animals’ behavior and health during grooming processes, alerting staff to any signs of distress or health concerns
- Maintain cleanliness of grooming tools, tubs, kennels, work areas, and the entire salon to uphold and maintain hygiene standards
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating with pet owners when needed about their pets’ needs and grooming preferences
- Handle pet sitting duties as needed for animals waiting for or after grooming sessions
Requirements
- Prior experience in grooming, pet handling, dog training, or veterinary environments is highly desirable
- Knowledge of animal care practices including pet grooming, animal restraint, and pet sitting
- Experience working with dogs and cats other animals such as horses or small pets is a plus
- Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary to move animals or equipment safely
- Strong animal handling skills with a focus on safety and compassion for pets of all temperaments
- Excellent customer service skills to communicate effectively with clients and team members
- Willingness to learn new grooming techniques and veterinary-related procedures
- Physical stamina to stand, walk, bend, and lift throughout the workday in a fast-paced setting
