Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and passionate 1.0 Full-Time Equivalent (FTE) Vocal Music Teacher to inspire students through the power of music and foster a love for singing and performance. Duties
- Design and implement comprehensive vocal music curricula aligned with educational standards and tailored to meet diverse learning styles.
- Lead classroom instruction in singing techniques, music theory, performance skills, and ensemble participation for students across various grade levels.
- Foster an inclusive environment that supports students with disabilities and adapts lessons using instructional modifications and learning technology tools such as Learning Management Systems (LMS).
- Assess student progress through performance evaluations, standardized testing preparation, and regular feedback, utilizing student performance data analysis to inform instruction.
- Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development, lesson planning, and school-wide music programs to enhance the overall educational experience.
- Communicate effectively with parents regarding student progress, behavior management strategies, and upcoming performances or events.
- Support school initiatives by participating in extracurricular activities, concerts, auditions, and community outreach programs that promote musical engagement.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Music Education, Vocal Performance, or a related field; advanced certifications preferred.
- Proven classroom teaching experience in elementary or middle school settings with a focus on music education.
- Demonstrated expertise in teaching singing techniques, music literacy, and performance skills across diverse student populations.
- Familiarity with Learning Management Systems (LMS), learning technology tools, and instructional modifications for students with disabilities.
- Strong classroom management skills combined with the ability to adapt lessons to accommodate different learning styles and cultural backgrounds.
- Experience working with children in private or public school environments; knowledge of childhood development principles is essential.
- Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with colleagues, parents, and community members.
- Knowledge of educational compliance standards related to arts education and standardized testing requirements.
- Ability to analyze student performance data to tailor instruction and support individual growth in musical proficiency.
