Our firm is seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Foreclosure Paralegal to join our default services team. In this role, you will manage residential and commercial foreclosure files from initial referral through post-sale completion. The ideal candidate possesses a deep understanding of North Carolina Chapter 45 non-judicial foreclosure procedures and exhibits strong file management skills. You will work closely with mortgage servicers, trustees, and the North Carolina Clerk of Superior Court system to ensure all actions strictly comply with state timelines.Key Responsibilities
- File Management: Move high-volume foreclosure cases through the legal pipeline from initial breach letter referral to final deed recording.
- Document Preparation: Draft critical North Carolina-specific legal documents, including Substitutions of Trustee, Notices of Hearing, Affidavits of Indebtedness, and Notices of Sale.
- Title Review: Analyze property title searches and Exception Sheets from the Register of Deeds to identify senior liens, tax issues, or vesting defects.
- Court E-Filing: File pleadings and manage hearing dates via the NC eCourts (Portal/File & Serve) system across various counties.
- Auction & Post-Sale Processing: Coordinate sale advertising with local newspapers, calculate bidding instructions, submit results to the clerk, and draft Trustee’s Deeds.
- Client Portal Communication: Maintain daily status updates and milestone tracking within client portals (e.g., BKFS/LoanSphere, Vendorscape, Tempo).
Required Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of 1–3 years of experience specializing in North Carolina foreclosure law or default servicing.
- Technical Skills: High proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 and default servicing platforms. Experience with NC eCourts is highly preferred.
- Skills: Exceptional organizational skills, strict attention to deadline tracking, and the ability to manage a heavy caseload independently.
- Credentials: A Paralegal Certificate or Associate/Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
Preferred Qualifications
- North Carolina State Bar Certified Paralegal (NCCP) designation.
- Active North Carolina Notary Public commission (or willingness to obtain one within 30 days).

Pay: $45,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
