One of the things that makes GBA unique is our small class sizes, with no more than 10 students per class, allowing teachers to build meaningful relationships with students and provide individualized instruction.
Position Overview
Great Beginnings Academy is seeking a passionate, knowledgeable, and engaging History Teacher to join our team for the 2026–2027 school year.
This position will teach a combination of history and social studies courses based on enrollment and scheduling. Grade levels are to be determined but may include elementary, middle, and high school history and social studies.

- Economics
- World Geography
- Additional history and social studies courses as assigned
We are looking for an educator who can bring history to life while helping students understand how historical events, cultures, governments, geography, and economics have shaped our world. The ideal candidate will encourage critical thinking, meaningful discussion, and civic responsibility in a Christ-centered learning environment.
Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging, standards-based history and social studies instruction.
- Create lesson plans aligned with Florida B.E.S.T. Standards.
- Foster critical thinking through historical inquiry, discussion, and analysis.
- Teach civics, government, geography, and economics through interactive lessons.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners.
- Assess student progress and provide timely feedback.
- Maintain accurate attendance and grade records.
- Foster a positive, structured, and respectful classroom environment.
- Communicate effectively with parents and school administration.
- Collaborate with fellow teachers and staff.
- Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and school events.
- Integrate technology appropriately to support instruction while emphasizing teacher-led learning.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required (Education, History, Social Studies, Political Science, Geography, Economics, or a related field preferred).
- Florida teaching certification is preferred but not required.
- Previous classroom teaching experience is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of U.S. History, World History, Civics, Government, Geography, and Economics.
- Strong classroom management skills.
- Excellent communication and organizational abilities.
- Passion for teaching history and helping students develop an appreciation for the past and an understanding of their role as informed citizens.
- Ability to teach multiple grade levels and adapt instruction accordingly.

Schedule
- Monday–Friday 7:30AM-3:00PM
Pay: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour
