Dollop Coffee Co is looking for part-time Baristas across multiple locations to prepare hot and cold beverages, with a focus on coffee and tea.
Barista responsibilities include taking orders, educating customers on our drink and food menu, making recommendations based on their preferences, and up-selling specials. Baristas are also responsible for selling ready-to-eat pastries, walking small lunch dishes from the kitchen window to dine-in guests at the seating area, and general cleanliness/upkeep of the shop.
To be successful in this role, you must be outgoing, have excellent conversation skills, and enjoy getting to know our guests.
You should be available for various shifts.
Applicants with full weekend availability will be prioritized.
Responsibilities
- Communicate clearly and swiftly with store manager any issues that may arise
- Be a leader for other staff, and lead by example
- Comfortable working solo with a cook
- Comfortable with both opening and closing procedures
- Warmly greeting customers as they enter
- Display menus to the customer, and answer their questions regarding ingredients
- Take orders while paying attention to key details (e.g. preferences of coffee blend, milk choice, food items, food toppings)
- Accurately prepare beverages according to recipes
- Serve beverages and prepared food
- Food running
- Restocking as needed
- Receive and process payments
- Keep the bar area clean and sanitary at all times
- Keep customer area, retail, and BOH organized at all times
- Comply with health and safety regulations
- Wash dishes using dishwasher
- Communicate customer feedback to managers
- Recommend new menu items
Skills
- Previous experience as a Barista is strongly encouraged.
- Previous experience in a food industry setting is preferred.
- Valid Food Handler Permit is required
- Knowledge of sanitation regulations (completed the 1 hr food service handler certification online, ANSI or Illinois, prior to onboarding)
- Basset required for some locations

Pay: $18.00 - $24.00 per hour
