Overview
We are seeking a dedicated, reliable, and experienced Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. Duties
- Assist dentists during various procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry treatments
- Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental tools, and ensuring all equipment is functioning properly in accordance with infection control protocols
- Take and develop dental X-rays using digital imaging systems such as X-ray machines and 3D scanners while maintaining proper radiation safety standards
- Manage patient records by updating medical history, documenting treatment notes in EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Dentrix or Epic, and ensuring HIPAA compliance for patient confidentiality
- Provide chairside assistance through four-handed dentistry techniques to improve workflow efficiency and patient comfort
- Monitor vital signs and medical documentation for patients with special needs or medical conditions
- Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, managing medical records, and assisting the dental receptionist as needed
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Dental Assistant with knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques
- Proficiency in dental software platforms including Eaglesoft, Dentrix, Epic or similar EMR systems
- Ability to perform X-ray procedures accurately and safely while adhering to HIPAA regulations
- Familiarity with pediatric dentistry practices and working with children is highly desirable
- Strong understanding of medical terminology, medical coding, and medical documentation processes
- Knowledge of dental assisting procedures across various specialties such as prosthodontics and endodontics
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain procedures clearly to patients of all ages
- Certification in CPR/BLS is preferred; additional certifications in dental radiography or infection control are a plus
