Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and energetic Resident Assistant Caregiver to join our dedicated team in providing exceptional care and support to residents in a long-term care or assisted living environment. Duties
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility support
- Monitor and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration to ensure health stability
- Provide medication reminders and assist with medication administration under supervision or according to care plans
- Support residents with memory care needs, including Alzheimer's and dementia care strategies, to promote safety and comfort
- Operate manual handling equipment like Hoyer lifts safely to assist with resident transfers while adhering to proper lifting practices
- Prepare nutritious meals and snacks tailored to individual dietary requirements while maintaining cleanliness in the kitchen area
- Engage residents in social activities, group exercises, or recreational programs to foster community involvement and mental stimulation
Qualifications
- Prior experience in assisted living, nursing home, or residential care settings is highly preferred
- Knowledge of ADLs assistance, dementia care, Alzheimer's care, and memory care techniques
- Certification in CPR and First Aid is required; additional training in safe patient lifting practices is a plus
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or cognitive impairments is advantageous
- Ability to operate EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems for documentation purposes
- Strong communication skills for effective client interaction and teamwork
- Physical ability to perform heavy lifting tasks and provide safe patient handling throughout shifts
