Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Production Lead to join our team at Acme United Corporation. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in assembly line setup, leading teams, and a keen eye for detail.
Responsibilities
- Support department in meeting the monthly target (currently 85%).
- Assist in daily start up meeting with team.
- Work in conjunction with dept planners to ensure orders are prioritized to meet customer build/ship dates.
- Ensure that the daily schedule is being used and followed (
- Daily follow up to ensure that all lines are set up for the next days run (on time start).
- Ensure all automation equipment is being used (squid ink jet, video jet and label peel machines etc.).
- Confirm members are meeting line/piece rate by routine follow up.
- Follow up with other members and Team Leads that the basics of 5’s is being followed and holding everyone accountable.
- Ensure lines are being set up correctly by Material Handlers.
- Ensure excess/unused product is put back in the designated location in the warehouse.
- Facilitate work teams in building products according to defined production station environment.
- Train and coach assemblers on how to handle and organize workstations for a variety of assembly methods and needs.
- Continuously monitor the quality of production within the production area and take appropriate measures to eliminate or minimize quality and waste issues.
- Responsible for all required paperwork to be accurate and correct to designated locations including disbursement and counts of rejected items, collecting data for hour-by-hour reports and providing detail and summary reports as required by management.
- Set-up team and assemblers to ensure proper product flow with minimal set-up time.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- 2-5 years working directly in a moderate-to-high volume assembly process or equivalent.
- High school diploma or equivalent education required
- 2-3 years of leadership / supervisory experience.
- Manufacturing practices in an assembly environment.
- Able perform basic math.
- Must be able to read, speak and write English fluently.
- Preferably bi-lingual
- Effectively and correctly read and follow instructions.
- Experience in Leadership in a team environment.
