Position Purpose:
Responsible for the day-to-day management of the shipping and Recieving though supervision, development and training of the warehouse team. Responsible for directing activities of the shipping department.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Tasks related to this position may vary and are not limited to those listed below:
- Follow established safety rules, policies and procedures at all times
- Correspond with customers and sales using tools provided
- Monitor shipping schedule and correspond with Scheduler
- Maintain filing system
- Process customer pickups as required
- Collaborate, consult and communicate with other supervisors on all shifts
- Administer the truck scheduling system
- Develop delivery schedules for all orders
- Recommend changes for improvements in efficiencies and performance
- Schedule dock appointments with customers as needed
- Compile a daily performance report and distribute
- Contact and schedule outside carriers as required
- Assist in warehouse as needed
- Respot trailers as needed
- Reconcile daily shipping log
- Ensure prompt, accurate loading and shipping of finished product for customers
- Monitor all job functions to match quality and safety policies
- Ensure prompt and accurate execution of all job functions
- Ensure all projects completed timely and accurately
- Work from written and verbal directions
- Maintain neat and orderly work area
- Organize and maintain plant fun schedule “Smartplan”
- Order sheets daily
- Order Production supplies and maintain an accurate inventory
Full-time role in a manufacturing plant/warehouse setting
Skill Set:
- Basic math and computer skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
- Organizational skills
Qualifications Desired:
- 5 years of experience as a shipping supervisor or manager
- Experience in the corrugated packaging industry highly preferred
- High school diploma / GED
