Our client is seeking a warm, dependable Early Childhood Support Staff member to join their premier preschool in Saugus, MA. This floating support position works throughout the center, assisting classrooms serving children ages 6 weeks to 5 years old. Responsibilities include helping with classroom cleanup and end-of-day closing procedures, supporting teachers with diapering and toileting routines, assisting during snack time, and providing general classroom support as needed. The ideal candidate is flexible, reliable, and enjoys working with children while helping maintain a safe, organized, and nurturing learning environment.
- These are Direct Hire positions with the school
- Part-time; Monday-Friday; year-round employment
- Estimated start date would be mid-August!
Open Positions
- Early Childhood Support Staff: Part-time position with a flexible start time; however, must be available to work until 5:30pm. Monday through Friday availability is not required and the days can be flexible!
Salary
- $15.00-$18.00/hour pending education, credentials, and experience
Responsibilities
- Greet children and parents warmly during arrival, helping create a positive start to each child’s day.
- Float between classrooms serving children ages 6 weeks to 5 years old, providing support where needed throughout the day.
- Assist teachers with daily classroom routines, including diaper changes, toileting, handwashing, and transitions.
- Help supervise children during activities, playtime, and snack time while promoting a safe and nurturing environment.
- Support classroom opening and closing procedures, including cleaning, sanitizing toys and surfaces, organizing materials, and resetting classrooms for the next day.
- Assist with snack preparation, serving, and cleanup while following proper sanitation procedures.
- Help maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming environment in accordance with licensing and health guidelines.
- Provide additional classroom support as needed to ensure smooth daily operations across the center.
Qualifications
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. in connection with the handling of children for the facilitation of programs, child safety, and potential emergency situations - for Infants and Young Toddlers, must be able to properly lift infants into and out of a crib
- Must meet background check eligibility
- Must be at least 16-years-old
- Experience working with children in a childcare, preschool, or similar setting is preferred but not required.
- StrongStart 2.0 (or willingness to obtain) training is required.
- Warm, friendly personality with strong interpersonal skills.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to manage independent responsibilities.
- Ability to follow health, safety, and sanitation guidelines.
