Position Summary
The Vocational Truck Sales Representative is responsible for driving sales of new and used vocational trucks across North Florida and South Georgia. This role focuses on building strong, long-term relationships with customers in construction, refuse, utility, municipal, and other vocational industries. The ideal candidate is a motivated, customer-focused sales professional who can deliver tailored truck solutions backed by the strength of Tom Nehl’s full-service capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and grow a strong customer base within the vocational truck market across the assigned territory
- Manage/assist with current key accounts to support truck sales and/or service opportunities
- Build lasting relationships with contractors, municipalities, fleet operators, and owner-operators
- Identify customer needs and recommend customized solutions, including body and upfit specifications
- Actively prospect new business through cold calls, job site visits, networking, and industry events
- Prepare detailed quotes, bids, and proposals, ensuring accuracy in specifications and pricing
- Collaborate with internal departments (parts, service, financing, and body/upfit partners) to deliver complete solutions
- Manage the entire sales cycle from initial contact through delivery and post-sale follow-up
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in our CRM system
- Stay informed on products, industry trends, and competitive offerings
- Deliver exceptional customer service to drive repeat business and referrals
Qualifications
- Proven Commercial Sales experience, 5+ years’ experience minimum
- Strong understanding of vocational truck applications (dump, refuse, utility, tanker, etc.) is a plus
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
- Ability to understand and explain technical truck specifications and configurations
- Self-starter with a strong work ethic and results-driven mindset
- Proficiency with CRM tools and Microsoft Office
- Valid driver’s license required (CDL required)
Preferred Experience
- Experience selling Class 6–8 trucks
- Knowledge of truck bodies, upfitting, and vocational applications
- Established relationships within construction, municipal, or fleet industries in North Florida or South Georgia
- Familiarity with commercial vehicle financing and leasing
Work Environment
- Combination of dealership, office, and field-based sales activity
- Frequent travel throughout North Florida and South Georgia
- Training will require some travel overnight
