Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join our dynamic healthcare team. Responsibilities
- Assist patients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility to promote independence and dignity.
- Monitor vital signs including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates, recording findings accurately in electronic health records (EHR systems).
- Support medication administration under supervision, ensuring proper documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Facilitate patient transfers using equipment like Hoyer lifts and ensure safe manual handling practices during mobility assistance.
- Observe and report changes in patient conditions, including symptoms of dementia or infectious diseases, to nursing staff promptly.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment by following aseptic techniques and infection control protocols.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members to ensure comprehensive care delivery.
Requirements
- Valid certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in accordance with state regulations.
- Experience working with diverse populations such as geriatric patients, individuals with developmental disabilities, or those requiring memory or dementia care.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, vital signs measurement, and basic life support (BLS) certification.
- Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems) and medical documentation standards.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and adhere to safe lifting practices during patient transfers.
- Strong caregiver communication skills with a compassionate approach to patient service.
- Prior experience in settings such as long-term care facilities, hospitals—including ICU or trauma centers—home care or outpatient clinics is highly desirable.
