The Electrical Switchgear Specialist serves as a technical and sales-focused resource supporting customers, internal sales teams,
and project stakeholders. This role provides subject matter expertise in electrical switchgear and power distribution systems while
managing quotes, orders, and project coordination. The Specialist plays a key role in ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and customer
satisfaction throughout the sales and fulfillment process.
This position is ideal for a seasoned professional who can leverage existing customer relationships while continuing to grow and
expand a switchgear-focused book of business.
Responsibilities
- Act as a subject matter expert for electrical switchgear and related power distribution equipment within the wholesale
electrical industry
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships through phone, email, and in-person engagement
- Provide detailed product information, including specifications, pricing, lead times, availability, and value-added
services
- Prepare, review, and manage switchgear quotations to ensure accuracy, competitiveness, and profitability
- Coordinate with manufacturers, vendors, and internal teams to support project timelines and order fulfillment
- Support project execution from quote through delivery, proactively resolving issues and delays
- Participate in customer meetings, job site walk-throughs, internal sales calls, and business development or outreach
events as needed
- Evaluate complex or problem orders and recommend solutions, including deviations from standard procedures when
appropriate
- Maintain accurate documentation and submit regular reports on quotes, orders, customer activity, lost business, and
sales forecasts
Qualifications
- 5–10 years of experience in electrical switchgear, power distribution, or wholesale electrical supply
- High school diploma or equivalent required; trade school, vocational training, or college coursework preferred
- Strong working knowledge of medium- and low-voltage switchgear systems and components
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency with PC-based systems; familiarity with Eclipse Software preferred
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and deadline-driven
- Self-motivated, personable, and able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Preferred: Candidates who bring an established customer base or existing relationships within the electrical
switchgear, power distribution, utility, contractor, or industrial markets
Compensation
- Base salary range: $100,000–$120,000, starting based on experience, technical expertise, and customer base
