Part-Time LPC Independent Contractor – HelpMend Personal Injury & Trauma Counseling
We are seeking a Texas Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) to join our growing practice as a part-time independent contractor providing counseling services to clients experiencing emotional and psychological difficulties following personal injuries.
Our clients commonly present with trauma-related symptoms, anxiety, depression, adjustment difficulties, chronic pain, changes in functioning, driving anxiety, relationship stress, and other concerns associated with significant injuries and life disruption.
This position is ideal for a clinician who enjoys trauma-focused work, values autonomy, and is interested in gradually developing a consistent part-time caseload.
Compensation & Caseload
- $85 per completed counseling session
- Independent contractor/1099 position
- Caseload will gradually build toward approximately 10–15 clients
- Referrals will be provided as they become available
- Contractor is responsible for submitting a monthly invoice for completed services
- Caseload and number of referrals are not guaranteed
Schedule
This position requires flexibility in scheduling. Many of our clients work or attend medical appointments during traditional business hours, so we are particularly interested in clinicians who are willing to provide some:
- Evening appointments
- Weekend appointments
- Flexible daytime appointments when available
The clinician will have considerable autonomy in establishing their schedule and will schedule and manage their own appointments once a referral is assigned.
Responsibilities
The LPC contractor will:
- Provide individual counseling to clients experiencing trauma and emotional distress associated with personal injury
- Complete appropriate clinical assessments and develop individualized treatment plans
- Maintain timely, accurate, and clinically appropriate documentation
- Schedule clients directly after receiving referrals
- Maintain appropriate communication regarding client attendance, scheduling, and treatment status
- Provide services in accordance with the Texas Behavioral Health Executive Council and LPC professional and ethical standards
- Maintain client confidentiality and comply with HIPAA requirements
- Practice within their scope of competence
- Maintain professional boundaries and appropriate communication with clients and referral sources
- Submit invoices monthly according to established procedures
- Maintain their own active professional license and required professional liability insurance
Qualifications
Required:
- Active and unrestricted Texas LPC license
- Master's degree in counseling or a related behavioral health field
- Experience providing individual psychotherapy
- Experience working with trauma, PTSD, anxiety, depression, adjustment disorders, or related concerns
- Strong clinical documentation skills
- Dependable, organized, responsive, and able to work independently
- Comfortable managing an independent caseload and scheduling clients
- Ability to maintain a high level of professionalism when working with clients and interdisciplinary referral sources
Preferred:
- Experience treating clients following motor vehicle collisions, workplace injuries, or other personal injuries
- Experience working with chronic pain and trauma-related disorders
- Training in trauma-informed interventions such as CBT, CPT, ACT, exposure-based interventions, or similar approaches
- Bilingual English/Spanish strongly preferred
- Previous telehealth experience

We are looking for a clinician who is compassionate but clinically structured, dependable, responsive, and comfortable working independently. The ideal candidate understands that personal injury can affect much more than physical health and is prepared to address trauma symptoms, loss of functioning, chronic pain, emotional distress, relationship changes, and disruption to a client's previous way of life.
This is a good opportunity for an LPC seeking part-time contract work with flexibility and the ability to gradually build a caseload without being responsible for generating their own referrals.
Compensation: $85 per completed session
