Duties
- Manage and organize legal files related to personal injury cases using document management systems such as iManage and PCLaw.
- Perform detailed data entry and maintain accurate records of case information, court filings, and client communications.
- Review legal documents for completeness, consistency, and accuracy; assist with proofreading and transcription tasks.
- Support attorneys by conducting legal research using Westlaw and LexisNexis on topics including personal injury law, workers' compensation law, and litigation procedures.
- Assist with document review processes, ensuring all case materials are properly filed, indexed, and accessible for ongoing litigation.
- Coordinate with various departments to facilitate project management tasks related to case deadlines and court filings.
- Provide excellent administrative support through phone etiquette, scheduling, filing, and maintaining organized case files in compliance with legal standards.
Experience
- Proven clerical or legal administrative experience in a law office setting.
- Familiarity with legal research tools such as Westlaw or LexisNexis.
- Experience with legal case management software including iManage or PCLaw is highly desirable.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent writing skills for drafting correspondence, reports, and legal documents.
- Knowledge of various areas of law including personal injury law, estate planning, environmental law, tribal law & regulations, family law, landlord-tenant law, securities law, patent law, UCC law, immigration law, landowner rights, contracts, and litigation procedures is a plus.
- Demonstrated attention to detail through proofreading and document review activities.
