Job Description: Assistant Project Manager

Position Summary
The Assistant Project Manager (APM) supports the planning, coordination, and execution of projects from initiation through completion. This role works closely with the Project Manager, cross functional teams, vendors, and stakeholders to ensure deliverables are met on time, within scope, and within budget. The APM helps manage project documentation, schedules, communication, and day to day operations to keep the project running smoothly.
Key Responsibilities

Assist in project planning, including scope definition, scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation.

Coordinate daily project activities and ensure tasks are completed according to timelines.

Prepare and maintain project documentation, such as meeting minutes, status reports, change orders, and risk logs.

Communicate with stakeholders, including clients, vendors, subcontractors, and internal teams.

Track project progress and report updates to the Project Manager.

Support procurement activities, including obtaining quotes, reviewing proposals, and coordinating deliveries.

Monitor project costs and assist with budget tracking and invoice review.

Help manage project risks, issues, and change requests.

Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.

Participate in project meetings, prepare agendas, and follow up on action items.
Work Environment

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Business, Engineering, Construction Management, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience).

1 to 3 years of experience supporting projects in a professional environment.

Strong organizational and time management skills.

Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.

Proficiency with project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Smartsheet, Asana, Jira, Procore).

Ability to multitask and manage competing priorities.

Strong analytical and problem solving skills.

Familiarity with project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, PMBOK) is a plus.

Certifications such as CAPM or PMP (in progress or completed) are beneficial.
