Job Summary
Moves Materials within or near plant and yard.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Operates traveling overhead crane to lift, move, and position loads of material and products using hoisting attachments, such as hook, sling.
- Reads work order or follows oral instructions to ascertain materials to be moved.
- Observes load hookup and determines safety of load.
- Loads and unloads materials onto or from trays, racks, and shelves.
- Conveys materials from storage to designated areas.
- Secures lifting attachments to materials and conveys load to destination.
- Counts, weighs, and records number of units of materials moved or handled on daily production sheets.
- Marks information on material or other containers.
- Stacks or assembles materials into bundles.
- Proficiently operate; indoor and outside cranes and perform laborer duties as necessary.
Qualifications:
- One to three years related experience and/or training preferred. Working knowledge of typical pull sheets, cut lists.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as blueprints, safety rules, operating and maintenance instruction and procedure manuals. Basic knowledge of ASTM-A6
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
- Ability to read tape measure.
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; outside weather conditions; and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
