Job Overview
We are seeking an enthusiastic and compassionate Assistant Preschool Teacher for our Two's Class. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to support early childhood education by engaging with toddlers, implementing curriculum plans, and creating a joyful learning atmosphere. The ideal candidate will be energetic, detail-oriented, and passionate about nurturing young children’s growth.
Duties
- Assist lead teachers in implementing developmentally appropriate curriculum and lesson plans tailored for two-year-olds
- Support classroom management and behavior guidance to foster a positive learning environment
- Engage children in age-appropriate activities that promote literacy, math, physical development, and social skills
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment adhering to health and safety standards
- Communicate regularly with parents about their child's progress, milestones, and classroom activities
- Support children with toddler care routines including feeding, diapering, and nap times
- Follow mandated reporting laws and ensure compliance with all childcare regulations
Skills
- Experience working with young children in preschool or daycare settings
- Strong knowledge of childhood development principles and early intervention strategies
- Ability to develop engaging curriculum focused on literacy, math, physical education, and social-emotional learning
- Excellent communication skills for effective parent interaction and team collaboration
- Classroom management skills to promote positive behavior and create a nurturing environment
- Familiarity with special education practices and behavior management techniques
- Certification in first aid and CPR preferred; ongoing training in child welfare is a plus
- Knowledge of mandated reporting laws related to child safety and welfare
- Experience with standardized testing or assessments for early childhood education is advantageous
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team dedicated to preschool teaching excellence
