Responsibilities
- Thoroughly clean and sanitize dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment following food safety sanitizing procedures
- Assist with basic food preparation tasks such as chopping, slicing, and assembling ingredients to support chefs and kitchen staff
- Buse tables and clear dining areas promptly to ensure a smooth flow of service
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including dishwashers, sinks, and food prep tools
- Handle manual lifting of heavy pots, boxes of supplies, and bulk ingredients with proper technique to prevent injury
- Maintain high standards of sanitation and cleanliness throughout the kitchen environment in compliance with health and safety standards
- Support the team during busy service periods by managing dishwashing loads and assisting with light food prep tasks as needed
Qualifications
- Previous experience in food service or restaurant environment preferred; familiarity with kitchen operations is a plus
- Knowledge of food safety management practices and sanitation procedures required
- Ability to perform manual handling tasks safely, including heavy lifting and prolonged standing or walking
- Basic knife skills for food prep tasks preferred but not required; willingness to learn is essential
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on cleanliness, safety, and organization
- Excellent teamwork skills with a positive attitude in a fast-paced setting
- Prior experience with catering or banquet service is advantageous but not mandatory
