Computed Tomography (CT) Technologist
Location: Columbia VA Medical Center – Columbia, SC
Position: Full-Time
Schedule: Monday–Friday | 8-Hour Day Shifts
Overview:
Vighter is seeking Computed Tomography (CT) Technologists to provide patient care support at the Columbia VA Medical Center. This is an excellent opportunity to provide exceptional diagnostic imaging services while caring for our nation's Veterans in a collaborative healthcare environment.
Responsibilities:
- Perform a variety of CT examinations with and without contrast following established imaging protocols.
- Produce high-quality diagnostic images and notify the Radiologist or CT Supervisor of critical findings requiring immediate attention.
- Prepare and administer contrast media as directed while monitoring patients for adverse reactions.
- Verify patient identity, explain procedures, and ensure patient safety throughout the examination.
- Accurately document examinations and maintain records using VistA CPRS and PACS systems.
- Review and validate images before submission for radiologist interpretation.
- Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to provide exceptional patient care.
- Maintain CT equipment, recognize and report equipment malfunctions, and assist with quality assurance activities.
- Ensure imaging rooms are clean, organized, and adequately stocked with supplies to support daily operations.
- Follow VA policies, radiation safety standards, infection control practices, and National Patient Safety Goals.
Requirements:
- Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
- Minimum of two (2) years of CT experience in a hospital or clinical setting.
- ARRT (CT) certification.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
